The US NTSB is not a satellite carrier / operator nor an intelligence company. Check their website for further details, scope and positioning within the US administration. The NTSB (and AMSA) got the data that have been collected from the various other sources involved. One of these sources is INMARSAT as owner and operator of the satellite based communication system which received the 'ping' signals form the aircraft.
End of the day, still filtered via a US governmental agency who makes the final call what is data to be considered, and what isn't.

Update: Just checked their site and found no info on MH370 other than their investigators are helping and on March 12:

NTSB UPDATES STATEMENT ON MISSING B-777 INVESTIGATION
    MARCH 12
National Transportation Safety Board investigators who traveled to Kuala Lumpur over the weekend are assisting Malaysian authorities who are leading the search efforts for the Boeing 777 that went missing five days ago.

Investigators with expertise in air traffic control and radar are providing technical assistance to the Malaysian authorities who are working on locating the missing jetliner.

The NTSB plans no further releases of information on the investigation.

Which is correct, MAS as the airline / owner is in charge of all official press releases and statements. NTSB supports since the aircraft is built in US and also because US citizens were on board. That's all known so far and not different from any previous engagement (which you can check online, e.g. SilkAir accident in Indonesia).

Errr... you are the one who insists that NSTB uses all these other sources. I found no confirmation of this. What I can confirm to you is that the Aussies are confining their search as per NTSB instructions.

Ddid you lose the overview about what you post and write? I'm referring to your statement:

And after your little game is hopefully finished we can go back to the main topic.

I give up... please be explicit... so you are saying the NTSB is NOT a US governmental agency? Or that the "final call" (about the search area) was not made by them?

Blaming the pilot Zaharie at this stage, and linking him with Anwar may be a mistake.

It will be seen as unfair.

Worse for the MLY govt, if the wreck is later found and it turns out both pilots were heroes who sacrificed themselves to fight off the hijackers.

Yes, it is just a friendly joke. I was even thinking ricohflex is very creative to think of such a joke.

Like I said before, if ASEAN military are willing to share military radar information, this case would have been solved many days ago. As the days pass, the chances of find the plane is becoming more remote

several residents of Kuda Huvadhoo told Haveeru on Tuesday that they saw a "low flying jumbo jet" at around 6:15am on March 8.
Got to check with the satellite ping at 8.11am and the circle of possible positions. Different time zones?

Does the speed and distance traveled match? Got enough fuel or not to reach Somalia?

What I don't yet understand: why are they looking at only the extreme right side of the shade region and totally ignoring the rest? Isn't Christmas Island as far fetch as the seas south of Sri Lanka?
