    A 70-300mm f/2.8 would be great...continue to wait!

hahaha ..... nothing can satisfy everybody. below is the comment from dpreview on the V2's EVF

The Nikon 1 V2 was a rather awkward-looking camera, with an angular body and pronounced 'hump' on the top for the built-in EVF. The V3 has a much more traditional rangefinder-style design and is not as tall as the V2 - but it's larger in every other dimension (and heavier, too) The reason it's not as tall is obvious: there's no longer a built-in EVF (but see below for more).

    ( copied from http://www.dpreview.com/articles/959...-quick-summary )

for me, the V2 looks is completely ok (similarity with F4), and holding it is even better. the only thing is the price ......

The price one thing, the new sensor, not sure how is the performance. Waiting for more user review after it's out.

    Thanks for sharing Richard.

The grip & EVF together with the V3 looks very good.

The new specs are very impressive.

that's the reason why i always wait for the 'replacement' model to be out in the market before buying the 'outdated' model

just curious - how far will the technical spec influence the buying decision? what is the % weightage?

Not that important for me. So far I prefer the lowres V1 which shares my D600 batteries but of course the V2 and V3 have better controls.

Image quality is never a problem with the 1 series. One of the most underrated series of cameras. Stellar image quality. If only people would stop dissing it before actually using one. A lot of paper tigers around.

The one big problem the 1 series have to solve is the pricing issue.
