Default E-10 a DSLR?

If u had yesterday's Sunday Times, turn to page 4, bottom left of the page. There's an offer to get the cam at $1699 with a trade-in of any camera.

Question is, the ad states the cam to be a Professional Digital SLR. Wouldn't a DSLR be those like Nikon's D100/D1X/D1H or Canon's D30/D60/1D?

Is my understanding is wrong? Is dpreview stating the cam to be SLR-like wrong? *scratch head*

it's a DSLR that doesn't allow for changing of lenses.

Because the E-10/20 uses a reflex mechanism, and lets you view through the lens, it's considered an SLR. SLR does not need to have interchangeable lenses.

i think was from dpreview...
from the pics see that at even low iso the noise levels seem quite bad leh...at least to my eyes....
think if i buy i shall save for a canon d30 or d60...

He says he does. The E-10 is great for studio work.

got my e10 from the US a couple of months ago. 800USD, with extras like a lexar 320mb and another lexar 128, plus an olympus action bag, and free shipping. been using it to learn the ropes of non-point-n-shoot photography.
