Default highly recommend CANON handstrap E1

yes , got my CANON handstrap fitted by TCW
for merely $45.......

I am not a handstrap kinda guy but this thing is really
useful especially if you have a vertical grip on
it just helps to balance as well as gives a better grip

the canon handstrap is better than others since it also
allows you to put on the neckstrap as well
Both are used at the same time

GEt Nelson TCW to fix it for you when you buy it
It does not come with instruction so it is quite tricky to get
it right

THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST USEFUL $45 BUCKS i spend

Don't mind my silly question, but where is TCW and what does it stand for?

I have also been looking for a handgrip/strap but CP does not bring in the Optech brand liao.

Instruction are in the grip documentation for 1.6x DSLR.

Anyway, it's not useful if u do u rotate to shoot a lot... in fact it does get in the way!

agree with oeyvind, i diy (not as comfortable of cause) one myself, just to test it before spending $$. find it gets into the way when shooting portrait. may sound silly, but whats the point of having the vertical grip with all the function (shutter, compensation dial ....etc) if your hand is strap to shooting landcape?

next is the camera cant sit flat because of the strap, so in case you didnt bring tripod, need to rest the camera flat on a stable surface to shoot lone exposure, you cant.

but a/m is only my opinion. rest may think otherwise.

for heavy setup, i feel more secure to walk around with my hand in the handstrap, less strain to my fingers and i can get ready to shoot quickly.

i made a mistake for not getting a handstrap for my new cam, and the whole setup feel like going to slip off from my hand, esp after holding it for more than 12 hrs a day for 1 whole week, my fingers started to cramp on the last few days and in the end i got to use the necksling which is more tiring.

if i need to swtich around portrait and landscape mode quickly, i will just grab the handgrip with the handstrap in between, which sort of act like a cushion

I can't live without it.

In fact, I don't even use the neckstrap. All my cameras have a vertical grip and the handstrap attached. Much better balance with heavier equipment.

The one from Zing has a screw at the bottom that results in the camera not being able to sit properly. The original Canon one with the vertical grip sits flushed.

Cheers,

1) must i fix the handstrap with the battert grip in place? is there no other way out.
as i do not have the battery grip.

2) can the handstrap be fixed and yet the small metal hole accomodate another neck strap? who to do it?
