Roy, good guess since you are in the same place as I am. But this is snow lake at Mt Baker. It's in Seattle, USA.

Default Skylight filters

hi chaotic,

some of the pics have a bluish cast from the sky that wash into the mountains and tress.
just wondering if you were using any skylight or UV filters for these shoots.

from my experience, UV filters don't seem to do a good enough job in such cases, skylight, with its slight pinkish tint seems to work better at eliminating the bluish cast.

I did not use a filter for the shots because I do not have much experience with them. I had a UV filter but it vignettes so I never bothered with it ever since. Does it really help or is photoshop a better idea?

i always feel that if you can 'cure' it the first time when taking the picture, it is best. however,
i am photoshop illierate, so maybe it is powerful enough.

try using a skylight, or at least a UV the next time you take landscape. trust me, it helps to cut out the bluish cast cause by the excess UV light.

nice view. But it will be good to use PL filter to make the color more difference.
