Default ClubSnap IP violations

I am saddened to discover that the ClubSnap gallery now serves images with a big fat "ClubSnap" logo superimposed.

This could be interpreted by the viewer as ClubSnap owning the rights to the pictures, or the pictures being advertisements for ClubSnap, neither of which is true. Even if I wouldn't care about these points, the logo spoils the pictures.

Unless someone can point me to the relevant section in the terms & conditions which would allow ClubSnap to do this, I have to assume ClubSnap is violating its licencing terms.

Apart from legalities, I am very disappointed of this blatant disrespect for the works (read: IP) of others.

I still have some hope that all this is a honest mistake that will be corrected quickly.

The gallery software was recently upgraded due to some previous version bugs. We never have the intention to superimposed any watermark or logo. It could be a option that was automatically enabled by default w/o our notice. In fact if I never read this thread, I never notice it myself too.

I will talk to our server person to get that fix asap.

Hope the matter gets solved soon

honest mistake or not, so long the idea is that the photos, if hotlinked from other IP's, may point people who dont know of CS' existence, to wake up and come to the site. not a bad thing IMHO, but of course, there wasn't any explanation since this was an accident.

don't worry and think of the worst. sometimes it's not a worry at all!

Too late, don't think disabling that option will help cos the images seems to have been saved with it.

Also, I'm suprised the software can take the logo, erase the white background and super impose it on the image as an option that can be selected through the software. This is one serious bug man.

Anyway, I'm sure the Admins will get to it immediately.

No images are saved WITH the watermark/logo. If you understand how watermarking works for this gallery case, it basically generates a graphic overlap on top of the original image whenever a image is displayer. The source image file is NEVER altered.

I have been informed the on the fly watermarking is now disabled.

Please inform me if anyone still see that on any images (please clear your IE cache and reload before testing).

Thanks!

Hmmm... at least this buggy problem is solved in double quick time after it has been reported.... good for the admins.

I'm relieved it turned out to be non-intentional. Thank you for fixing it so quickly.

That's what I thought of this morning whilst I sat on my toilet bowl.. amazingly (not joking nor sniding), my toilet is the best place where I sort out my thoughts and bugs in my programs.

Great... at least we know the Admins have been working overnight to get it resolved. They're not 24 hour support team ok!

More like peace and quiet, with just the occasional "plooms" and "placks"...

Maybe it's because you're relaxed and just doing your own business I solved quite a few major bugs sitting on my toilet bowl.
