No because that means CPF increase
I also wonder how long they can hold before they run out of oil .

    nope. i don't think it's sustainable.

it's basically giving away free money without control. it would be better to put the money into the kid's education fund, but not $50,000.

that's way too much. instead of education, people will be using that cash for other purposes if it were put into their bank accounts.

SG already have subsidies for housing and education.

The advantage of Kuwait is that the money comes from the oil and not from tax payers.

They don't need to serve NS to get the money.

The money given out in cash is more flexible in usage than money in CPF.

SG does not have oil wealth. The Kuwaiti politician wants to increase his popularity - at the state's expense. When oil runs out, they go back to desert + camels.

I just wanted to know how people really feel about this and not be influenced by my opinion.

well, you could start by opening a few questions like...

"what do you think of what this politician is doing? how do you think it would affect Singaporeans if this was implemented here in Singapore? would it work for us?"

It can be implemented but won't be popular. I won't go into details lest all my fellow citizens hate me.

Of course there is hidden price to pay

Just like Eldershield, they will take $ from someone else to pay you.
For every $10 they collected, they only pay you $1. The rest are their bonus.
