1st party stuff is overrated. I bought a pair of 1500mAH NB-2L batteries from Sterlingtek, which is 3rd party and they last a LOT longer than Canon's own batteries. Every since the 300D days I believe some 3rd party products are much worth cost efficient. I got both batteries for 50!

hmm ... seems like great deals. for batts i agree they are overrated. wat abt the east gear super power packs for 350D? are they anygood? i need to look for two batt packs for my hand grip.
but then for cable release i think yah original will work better. i demand that instantaneous" clicker on press of the button. any way where to get the batt packs Vulpix0r mentioned? available from local shops?

The batteries (NB-2LH) from Canon are only rated at 720mAH, while the Sterlingtek ones are rated at 1500mAH, and lives up to its reputation after using it for 1 week with one charge.
The people on dpreview speak highly of it too, so it's a pretty good investment. Their batteries can be found on eBay, just search for "nb-2l 1200mah" and you will find their entries. Although it is stated as 1200mah, they will send you the 1500mah ones because their ads have not been updated yet. |

Alternatively you can buy the 3rd party cable release made from China (Forgot the brand though). It functions and looks exactly like the RS-60E3, only cost $15 from MS Color. Bought it for my 300D last Dec and until today still working fine.
