Default How come there are more Nikon stuff on sale at TCW used section?

Is it just me? Or are there more used stuff at any one time for Nikon AF lenses? I always see very few variety, and the stuff that is there is still the same mostly for Canon AF lenses...

I can't answer for every Nikonian, but in my clique, what happens is those shooting with Nikkors, start with AF lenses, and gradually phase them out for the older MF lenses. It is in their opinion that the optical quality of the later Nikkor AF lenses are not in the same quality as the older Nikkor MF lenses.

Just one possibility, don't take it as the only reason.

Even if you wanted older MF lenses, the stock in Singapore is really limited. However, the closest country in asia that would have large stocks of such old lenses would be in Hong Kong.

I was there recently and they were still selling the old FD 85 f/1.2L lens. I was a little surprised to see that shops were still selling it in brand new.

maybe it's just that TCW is more popular among Nikonians for buying/selling used Nikon stuff.

From my limited knowledge, F mount has a longer history and one of the big 2 brand on SLR lens.

Combine this 2 and you get lots of 2nd hand lens.

Another theory could be TCW pays better for nikkors than others.

Same goes for 350D and 300D, many 20D users are mostly upgraders from 300D.

Quite true, there are some MF glasses that can win AF glasses interms of quality, AF is good for old man like me. One thing is that Nikon never really phased out the MF glasses, only provided solutions for the AF bodies. If you note, MF and AF all uses F-mount.

Pro bodies like F6 and D2X still provides metering for the MF glasses.
