hi, i understand that holda uses medium format film.

can i ask...

1)where to buy these medium format film? off the shelves at any photo-developing shop?

2)cost of the medium format film?

3)can a film scanner actually scan both normal and medium format film?

medium format negative film is slightly cheaper than 35mm film, but you get less photos
(16 with a holga)
You can get medium format film at the pro labs, you can get at Cathay photo also
The Nikon 9000 scans both medium and 35mm film
there are some minolta scanners also
but these scanners cost alot

you can buy from Cathay or Ruby Photo in Peninsula
wider range than most photo labs
typical cost is $4.60 for 1 roll of 120 colour negative film
special film (like tungsten or infra red) cost more
was just talking with mr Ho of Ruby yesterday afternoon
he said Spore does not bring in 220 film
only did once in 1980s during the boom and it was indent order.
you can use a normal flat bed scanner to scan in 120 negs or slides
my Epson 4180 can do it.
buying a special film scanner for medium format may cost > $1000

I am currently using Microtek 6100 to scan both 35mm and 120 negatives. It's a cheaper alternative to buying dedicated film scanner.

is the microtek scanner a normal flatbed scanner used in scanning documents and stuff?

didnt know a normal scanner scan films too...

Yes it is, it has 2 trays for u to put in ur 35mm negatives,slides and 120 negatives. It also has a white light area for u to see ur slides. Click here to find out more.
