I just got a S2 IS. I did file transferring via card reader. But the computer couldn't access the files in the SD card. So i have to plug the usb cable directly into the camera. by doing so, the computer can read the files but some files have been corrupted. Any ideas why this happen ? I'm using a 1 gig Sandisk Ultra II SD card.

Did you format before using the card? I was told by Canon service centre staff to do that before using it.

I suspect it's your card reader.
I encountered similar situation recently when trying to access a 1GB SD (NCP brand highspeed card) using my card reader. The card just couldn't be detected. (It's actually a good card reader, I bought it because my previous reader could not handle 512MB xD card. I didn't expect it to fail on 1GB SD.) I tried another reader and it worked well, but a few files were already corrupted. (Image recovery software probably won't help since the files could be read.) Luckily I was just test shooting a new camera, so not real lost. |
