Triple Package book by a couple, both Yale law professors
Chinese-American Amy Chua and her Jewish-American husband Jed Rubenfeld, both Yale law professors wrote the book.
Briefly, they say some people, Jews & especially 1st & 2nd generation Asian Americans do well in USA and have 3 common factors:
• a sense of being exceptional
• a sense of insecurity
• discipline and willingness to defer immediate gratification
I find that after Singapore got kicked out of Malaysia in 1965, these were exactly the features of the general Singapore population that made Singapore what it is today. Turned a bad situation around.
The reviewers criticised it. Some were negative reviews.
• 5 - said book had racist overtones
