Default file size?

I just got my C-4000z and did some test shots . The picture size are all the same for all the photos but some turn out to be ~1.5MB, the others are around 500-600KB. with the shots in 1.5MB even a 128MB card will not last very long if you are to leave home for a few days(eg. holidays)

P1010020 file size is 618463 bytes
Whitebalance: Auto
P1010021 file size is 1593251 bytes
Whitebalance: incandescent

The used of WB makes the photo 3 times the size. is this normal?

And P1010002 has the dark shadow at the corners, I think it is due to the lens adapter. will have to do more testing to see what situation contribut to this.

Anyway, shots turn out to be good. compare to the sony that I used to have, the functions are abit harder to access but I guess I will not have any problem after a while. have not try to super macro to see how it performs.

Try to set the resolution manualy to 640x480 and do the tests again .

Read the manual how to set the camera in one standar resolution with out to reset it self , if you take the batteries out .

the resolution for all the photos are the same. if you look at the photo properties you can see all settings for the shots.

The nature of JPEG compression is such that if your scene contains lots of fine detail, you will get a larger file compared to a scene that is more uniform. This can vary very significantly even at the same JPEG compression level setting and same image dimensions.

I do not know how smarter is the C4000 from the C2100 , but all my files is at one size , depending my own settings like HQ SHQ or TIFF .
