Default Nikon D70s

Hi Guys,

I am seriously contemplating buying the Nikon D70s kit but would like to know firsthand from those out there who are or have used it before.

Is it a good cam? By that I mean things like sharpness, ease of use, color quality, etc.

Thanks for the comments!

If u've used a nikon slr/dslr before, its easy to handle ... even if u haven't .. its quite easy to learn how to handle ... nice ergonomics =)

sharpness depends on the lens

color quality .. not to your liking? can upload custom curve or change the contrast ... also depends on the lens =)

[i only newbie hor .. pros pls correct me if i'm wrong]

From the 'raw' (not R.A.W.) pics I have seen, the D70 gives better color response than the equivalant model of 'other' brand . If you like rich color, the D70 CCD sensor is for you. But if you shoot action and moving wildlife a lot, then 'better' consider the other brand that has faster AF speed - in general. Think long term.

I will most of the time take stuff like architecture and landscape and less of moving stuff like sports and action.

Would this be a good choice?

af speed also depends on the lens ...

good choice or not ... depends on what u need it to do ...

from what u have posted ... i'd think u have plenty to choose from ..

e300, d70, 350d (for dslrs)

olympus 7070 and 8080 are also contenders ..

for landscape and architecture ... get a 8080 and wcon ... should be wide enough ... 8080 also has an excellent lens =)

e300, d70, 350d ... for wide, u'll need a wide angle lens (unless the 28mm end of the kit lens is enough for your purposes) and standard zoom and for sports/action may need a tele-zoom lens ... also got dust to deal with ...

really depends on what u need the cam to do =)

It's all depends on your requirement, every cameras are about the same, it will produce the same pictures, only thing different is the person who is taking the picture.

So it really up to you. But once you decided to get it, make full use of it, and don't compare to others camera, it will lead you to no end.

Just my two cents though.....

Hi there! I am also considering the D70s and the 20D (don't like the 350D) and there is a really good review on the d70 here:
