To Oly User,
Heard that the new two DSLR of Oly are going to launch with IS (Image Stabilitize) function. Model are E-3 and E-500.Dunno it is crossing over to KM or not??? On top of that I am unsure what extra feature it is going to install... I would hope that it does improve NOISE problems a lot and transfer rate too. And hopefully that it is not more 12MP, to me too much is over kill liao. To End this, it is a rumour afterall. ![]() |

![]() imo, an Olympus system with its fast f2.0 zooms and IS inbuilt into the camera will be amazing. |

This rumour is running around for sometime, but nothing confirmed yet. Oly did announce 2 DSLRs, whether the body's will have integral IS is still ???
IS definetely will make E sys very competitive choice sports & wildlife. 2X crop factor + Fast lens + Clean high ISO + IS This probably a reason why E1 stocks is "dumped" at such low prices in NZ. Hope it'll come true. |

nah, i was comparing the replacement for E-1 to the D2X and gang.
believe that the E-1 replacement will still be competitively priced compared with the D2X and if it really has IS built in, it will be a killer all-weather pro camera. after all, when the E-1 appeared initially, it was already the cheapest pro camera in the market. but anyway, the replacement for the E-300 seems to be sounding good, at least according to rumours, just solve the high ISO issue, jpeg prob and add in IS and I might just grab one to upgrade. ![]() Last edited by tao; 15th June 2005 at 12:07 PM. |

Bariq is rite. CCD got the behaviour of random noise.
As far I noe noise supression is not done on the CCD side is more on the IC chip that built in in the Camera itself. To frankly said, it is the Mircocontroller. Let hope that this IC chip got a better transfer rate, much higher buffer, and more better and complex ALU co-processor. ![]() |

but the super-CCD from Fujifilm (esp the F10's) is defying all that you guys have mentioned in terms of noise. so i still think that technology will always improve and same goes for CCD high ISO performance.

but then, maybe IS, if it appears will only be in E-1 replacement. cheapskaters like me won't be able to afford it. of course if it appear as a 'free' feature in E-300 upgrade, that will be a real killer! |
