Nice shots, I like the cloudy blue sky in the 2nd pic. Way to improve might be to lower the horizon a little more (or perhaps zoom out a little) on the 2nd one to give more space to the sky.

I don't think ziploc meant that. The buildings should not be exactly at the centre (top/down direction). Should show less water, and more sky.

    Default How to take?

How did you take the 2nd photo? What time was it? And what settings you use? Very nice sky... *drool*

Did you spot metering on the sky or multi/average across the whole image?

Thanks. I really should develop an eye for these interesting colour/contrast shots.

Will try out something like this some time.

Sorry, just being nosey... about the exposure reading, did you actually write them down, remember them or retrieve them from your digital camera (if you used one).

Reason is because at that time (2nd shot with blue sky), the shutter speed couldn't have been this long (3 - 4 sec) even at f8. Personally, I would suspect the speed to be faster. I can't be absolutely sure as I wasn't there, so do advise.
