What is the CF card given by Olympus when buying C7070WZ?

Hi guys, I am looking to buy an Oly C-7070WZ.

May I know what is the brand/model of the CF card that Olympus is giving free? Anyone who bought it recently can enlighten me on this?

Yup, they're now giving out silicon power 1G cf instead of the Lexar 1G CF.

Oh, Silicon Power's, that's the one they were giving out free during the PMA 2005 for every purchase of the C-7070. IN term of speed, the Lexar 80X CF card is faster on the C-7070 as compared to SP's.

Yup, olympus has stopped giving out the 1G Lexar WA x80 cf already, they're giving the cheaper SP x30 1G cf.

how much is the Lexar 80X 1GB in retail?

silicon power sounds quite sucky to me.

BTW, what is the best price that I can get for the C-7070WZ? Which shop is recommended?

I was quoted $930 with gst free 1Gb card.
It was a telephone enquiry, didn't ask for discounts yet...and the stoopud sales ger juz say it's a 1Gb card lor...and kept repeating the same answer when i want to know what card is that. I dun think i want a SD card, so used to CF card already.

I'm a sony user too, IMHO memory sticks are small but expensive, totally no value to me except that it's small. The standard memory sticks are slow...get a MS pro and they cost more. I like my canon A70 more than the sucky sony P10.

Back to topic, i'll stick to CF and $760 w/o freebies does appeal to me. Is this net price? Any warranty? I won't buy something expensive w/o warranty.
I'm interested actually...since i'm not able to get any resale 5050/5060s ard for UW photography...2 person order got cheaper?

I did my sums again.

$930 with GST 1 Gb CF is an ok price.
Juz imagine u minus off the 5% gst, and minus off the 1Gb Cf $124. U'll be left with 759.5.

Look like i'll rather be getting from retails.

Went to sim lim sq earlier, went into AP.

C-7070WZ pkg RPR 1099 with 1Gb Lexar 80x -> quoted 940 incl gst
1Gb Lexar 80x comes with 2 software which i can't rem the names now.

RPR for 1Gb Lexar $198 -> quoted $165

Doing the sums again:
Camera body only = 940 - 198 (RPR) = 742
= 940 - 165 (w disc) = 775
If getting from Olympus direct is net price, then the price here is $15 more.

So price before gst? 775 - 5% = 736.25

The above are juz my calculations based on the price quote i gather.

Olympus Roadshow outside Shaw House is still giving the 1GB Lexar WA x80 CF Card...

DOn't think they're still giving out the lexar CF. The free CF got to be collected at the Olympus centre at Hill Street.

Last I check roadshow at Shaw is $1099. This of course comes with 1GB CF card which can be of any make depending on their stock availability. Some other gifts thrown in as well .. tripod, 2nd battery etc.... which I'm not really interested. Fyi, I was quoted $940 on the phone by Alan Photo Funan.

Alan photo has checked with Olympus. Olympus now giving out Hagiwara 1Gb.

Was quoted 940 as well by AP. Free gift is the 1Gb CF redeemable from olympus. i didn't care abt the 1099 deal, lotsa free gift but none appeal to me, cos i dun need them (and paying 159 more).

think they got only 4 sets left now. so if you guys need it, hurry down tmr and grab one. tmr last day liao...
