Default Black Card

ANybody knows where I can get a black card and how much does it cost? I have been using black paper as a substitute for many occasions but I think it is time i get the real black card.

Why dont you DIY it instead? A black paper pasted onto a cardboard seems to be more cost effective dont you think? Cheers!

Well if the DIY one works, I just dont see the need for a 'real' black card if there's any. Cheers!

I guess it would be more reliable and you can be more assured and confident about lil things like light leakage, irregular surfaces and some reflections.

Usually for night exposures and multiple exposures. You have any idea where to get it? Any popular size will do.

even most professionals simply use a diy black card... if you're really worried about reflection - take a piece of cardboard, take matte black spray paint and coat it over. presto! black card - non-reflective too.

Just sorta curious, why a proper black card? did you had any bad experience with some DIY black cards you'll like to share?

ParkerR: I like the black Spray Idea...

No terrible experience with diy bc... but ever had light leakages and uneven exposures in a frame before. As all of you know, a double exposure in a single frame is supposed to look smooth as it is supposed to be ONE frame. But I ever had Certain parts of the photograph product with darker and lighter areas. Not a big issue, but it is just like some ppl prefer a manufactured flash diffuser than their own- It is more reliable and more professional.
