To capture as much shots as possible within the frame, I shot at a further distance, I have no worries on the details as K3 24MP is able to provide the details at this distance.

It has been a very long time I haven't posted here. Interestingly, I am not posting my shot but my friend's shot. I got to share this photo as I am very impressed with K3 capability in astrophotography after I helped him pp this shot of the Milky Way. I think perhaps this is the first K3 to capture the Milky Way from Singapore. Taken at a ulu place at the northwest part of Singapore in the early morning of 4 May 2014.

Trying out a setup I've been wanting to do for a while for cosplay.

    k-50 + Tamron 28-70 + 3-stop ND filter + flash under a hot 3pm sun

Try it with a wider aperture lens! You'll love it!

Nice shots btw! Did you use pTTL?

    Thanks!

Was only using manual flash with stofen cap. Fortunately pretty much everything was good at 1/4-1/16 power.

I just took a general reading of the surrounding area and those apertures were the widest I could be consistent without going over flash sync speed when I took a reading (without ND filter my shutter speeds reached up to 1/2000). I did open it up more near the end of the day.

Still need to get used to quickly adjusting settings via VF.

Nice! Don't worry uh... Not much right or wrong in technique so long as you know how it all work out.

But yep! Strobe more and you'll notice that manual flash settings required outdoors are mostly in that range.
