Default WFC2005 Floorball - SIN vs USA (4th Jun 2005)

This was the match that I got the most jitters as a human; as a Singaporean.

In an early assault on the US goal, Sonia Teo has a good chance of converting the melee into a goal, but the shot was neutralized by the US defence; as the US reserves and key team members look from their stands.

The break that made the difference - Ong Hui Hui makes a break on the left flank, and makes a backpass to...

#31 Martha Quek, who coolly faces the keeper one-on-one...

and it's the opening goal for the match!

The Singapore Orchids have a jubiliant moment as they celebrate the goal. Singapore 1, USA 0!

USA Floorball captain Jumppanen seems to be pretty disappointed with a decision made by the two referees from Switzerland during the match.

Sonia Teo suffers a severe inversion of her right ankle as she tries to wrestle the ball from Nurmia.

The pain is evident from the look of the her - Sonia tests out the stability of her right ankle with her left foot - and she carries on to play the game despite the injury.

Ng Shumin (in red) dribbles the ball away from a USA Floorball player as she waits for her teammates to move up to support the attack.

Sister act: Jill Quek (with sister Martha Quek in the foreground) shows a face that shows the will to keep on striving to score. Singapore 1, USA 3. Coincidentally, there were two sisters in the US team as well.

Seah Joo Yee tries to shake off US defender Nurmia in the last period of the game between Singapore and USA. Singapore conceded the match 1-3 at full time, despite a heartfelt hard fight against the American players.
