1st off... why do anyone think they are 'kidding'... DTL is mainly under CBD areas where years of building and tunnel works (sewers, drainage and utility) has been going on for years. How close the tunnel are to each other very much signals the limited space they have, even underground, to dug without massive removal or replacement of all this other structure.

And to answer why they 'think' its impressive... each tunneling machine is over 500 tons and the length of over 100m... you know how much precision it takes to get such a big machine to keep it going straight and accurate...

I am sure 70 CM is just the earth between the 2 structures and at the nearest section. Each tunnel is at least more than a meter thick plus the skin walls. The lines are many meters away from each other.

Correct... the tunnel itself is reinforced with concrete rings, each at least 1m thick... its this concrete ring that is protecting the tunnnel... Not the distance between both the two ring...

    Hopefully so.
But as someone who has got some engineering knowledge, i don't feel comfortable.

being mechanical system, any mechanical resonance (resonant freq) could have easily wreck the structure. proper damping is more critical else the energy would shoot up..

The only trend I see nowadays are people trying to stir whatever they can.... stir stir and stir some more.

    Bro,

At times things need to be stirred to bring out the flavor. Someone needs to start the ball rolling.
