Thanks guys.

No other suggestions?

I have difficulty getting good details of the water (highlights) when it's mildly overcast and when flash is used, like in Pic #9 n #12.

All shots were taken handheld with a D70 + 70-200/2.8VR + SB-800.

I am quite noobie at this photo thing but having wakeboarded for the last 5 years, i think you shouldnt crop the photos so much as it doesnt do justice to the trick involved. I think it would be nice to at least be able to tell how high the trick went and also you are not taking the shot at the "height of the trick".

maybe a taller photo like #4 shows how large the trick went.

also

#5, #7, #8 is kind of like when they are coming down to land already?

Cannot really comment on the quality of the shots as i don't think i have the necessary credentials.

I know its really difficult to take this action shots, I myself am actually trying it out myself.

please critic my comments as i might be talking nonsense as well.. ---> disclaimer

#5 and #8 are on the way up. Only #7 is on the way down.

I guess it all depends. Some riders prefer to nail their trick a little late, some earlier. So it's important to understand the style and preference of each individual rider for their different tricks.

Most of the time I crop so as to appreciate the intensity, style and emotion the rider is going through while executing the trick. It's also difficult to access each trick as sometimes the path taken for the trick is more parabolic than others. So it's quite different each time it's executed.

I may try not cropping as tightly in future however it's difficult to capture both the intensity of the rider and trick in the same pic. But I guess that would be the key.

Thanks for your comments. Appreciated.
