Mandai Orchid Garden Birdie Shoot-out

Hi folks!

Calling all budding nature and bird shooters! Will be organizing an outing on 11th June to the Mandai Orchid Garden to shoot the colourful sunbirds and spiderhunters there, do join in if you are keen! Will be there with a few of the regular bird shooters, this will also be an informal sharing session of sorts, where we can share tips and tricks on how to take better photos of birds. This would also be a great opportunity to get good shots to submit to a Nature Photography Competition organised by MOG (from 11-27 June 2005). Who knows, your shot might even be the winning entry!

Date: 11th June 2005 (Saturday)
Venue: Mandai Orchid Garden (near the Singapore Zoo, map of the place can be found [Here].
Public transport: SBS 138, TIBS 196 or 197. Parking space is available for those who drive.
Time: 8.30a.m - 12 noon
There will be a one time entrance fee charge of $3.00

Participants are encouraged to bring their own photographic equipment, a digicam or SLR body (film or digital), coupled with a telephoto lens (at least a 200mm, 300mm and above is recommended), a tripod and an external flash (if applicable). Also, spare batteries and memory cards/film.

The following items are also recommended to be brought along:

- Hat/Cap
- Umbrella
- Insect Repellent
- Sufficient drinking water

Please come dressed in comfortable, loose fitting clothes in duller shades of colour (white or any bright colour is not recommended) and a pair of walking shoes/sandals.

Thanks Kei!! Yes we are inviting newbies to bird photography to come and have a shoot out with the regulars! You will learn faster, and come away with useful tips as well. So what are you waiting for!

Sorry guys...

Had to choose Saturday over Sunday coz most people are free on Saturdays....Sunday some got church, some family day etc. Hope u guys understand.

May arrange another bird shoot a few months later, venue and date TBC. So do look out for it.
