That's true. A "Good Guy Greg" would wake the guy up and tell him nicely to cover himself and go

Just be careful when you do it.....
Sometimes if they still drunk, it could be hard to wake them or they could get violent.

I think the drunkard look like South Asian... if a gal ask them to cover up will be 'a bit too' dangerous...

The stomper should have just called the police.

They are banned from drinking in Little India, so they spread to other area...

That's my thought when they say "BAN" alcohol in Little India... It will be even harder to track small clusters... the problem just spread like cancer to else where.. I think....

Little India awash with light, colour for Pongal

Little India is awash with light and colour, as celebrations for the harvest festival Pongal kick off this week.

SINGAPORE: Little India is awash with light and colour, as celebrations for the harvest festival Pongal kick off this week.

The lights were switched on Friday night.

This arrangement continues every night for the whole of January.

Pongal marks the harvest season, and is mainly celebrated in Tamil Nadu, in South India.

Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Vivian Balakrishnan said being able to celebrate Pongal in Little India has added significance this year, after a riot in the neighbourhood took place last month.

Dr Balakrishnan said Little India continues to be a special place for the Indian community, including migrant workers.

He said: "They have sacrificed so much to work so hard, so far away from home to provide for their families. This celebration of the harvest, this celebration of provision for your family is one which I think the Indian foreign worker community can very much identify with."

I am just very curious if this was something we previously celebrated....

Yes we have celebrated the day we get our bonus every year.

It should be called a National Harvest Day.

Two men arrested for fighting in MRT

Police have arrested two men, aged 40 and 50, for fighting with each other in an MRT train travelling between Khatib and Yio Chu Kang MRT stations

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested two men, aged 40 and 50, for fighting with each other in an MRT train travelling between Khatib and Yio Chu Kang MRT stations.

The fight was caught in a video that went viral.

On January 11 at about 11.55pm, police were alerted by a call from staff in a MRT station that two men were fighting in an MRT train carriage.

When officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division arrived, both men had already left.

Police investigated and identified both men.

The two men were arrested on Monday in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 9.

The pair will be charged in court on Wednesday with affray.

If convicted, they can be jailed up to a year and fined S$5,000.

Commander of Ang Mo Kio Police Division, Assistant Commissioner Keok Tong San, said that the police will not hesitate to track down and prosecute those who disturb public peace by committing such senseless acts of violence.
