Shot this cute bird this morning at AMK Gardens. Too bad I was like on the other side of the lake and when I reach there it is gone!
Not sure what it is... is it a kingfisher? |

It's a white-throated kingfisher

Interesting! My first bird shot in CS.
Thanks, Kei!Too bad it is so far away from me. Hopefully next time it will be nearer. |

Birds do have favorite perches, in the case of the kingfisher it may be overlooking a pond, drain or a place where there are plenty of its prey. Hence if you study and observe its habit long enough you will find that you can actually wait (under concealment) near its favorite perch, so that you can have a closer shot. Of course you can approach it very stealthily. Cheers |

interesting. Use PS to brighten up the subject or the background, to make the kingfisher comes out clearer.
