    1) Policemen ain't have the ability to be omnipresent.

    2) The ad says "250,000 active NSMen" refers to our armed forces... 1/4 million strong military might. Not domestic security might.

    3) When ppl keep seeing policemen around, they complain about Singapore being a police state. When ppl don't see policemen around, they whine about their tax dollars going down the drain.

    4) When ppl see policemen start patrolling in HKMP5, they say it's 'overkill'. When ppl see unarmed policemen, they say that they are inefficient.

    5) When policemen don't draw their revolvers upon being attacked, they are the ones who lose their lives. If they draw and fire, they are the one being criticised for not using martial arts and nightsticks to counterattack a madman holding a cleaver.

    6) When crazed terrorists attempting to blow up an MRT station and gets arrested by ISD, ppl praise them for being efficient. But when politicians start to collaborate with external parties with vested interests to denounce their own country and gets arrested, ISD gets pooped on as 'draconian', 'running dogs' and 'a tool used by ruiling party for their own interest to ensure they stay in power'.

    7) When times are good and pockets are full. People keep quiet. When times are bad, people point fingers at 'lack of freedom', 'over-protective govt', 'draconian laws', etc, etc.

Feel free to add on further observations. Thanks.

Wonder what is the problem with a guy beaten up by others. These stuff happen ALL THE TIME. Just that the papers do not report it does not mean it is not happening. Not a big deal as there are thousands of people dying from traffic accidents, cancer AIDS every year in Singapore and more in overseas.

Just because you do not see it does not mean it is will not happen. If you think Singapore is safe you are naive, it is only less dangerous than some other countries.

Yes we'll look good with our photo vests, camera bags and Nikons or Canons as Volunteer Police.
