Default Desaru Birds

Hi
Just came back from Desaru .. I stayed at
the golden beach hotel where there are two hornbills
flying around.

One of them flew into a guest room's door at night and
I walked past it at arm's length. they are quite friendly
there.

I then went up into the Sungei Lebam Channel on a motor boat
and on the way there , I shot these White Breasted Waterhen I think

The Sg Lebam area is pristine and the boatman told me
there were otters eagles ,black gibbons and many kingfishers including
red colored kingfishers. I only observed the white throated.

I went 4 km in and out amoung the mangroves channel area and observed a big Purple Heronry. When our boat came into the area, Purple Herons exploded in all directions. When they left I could see the chicks head in the nests because the tide was high.

Many little herons also flew off.. it seems they are also nesting near the grey herons. I saw WBSEs flying low fishing from our boat.

We then started looking for snakes and other crawlies but found
nothing. The boat man said he can attract seasnakes by aiming
a spotlight at night into the water.

My D2h Suddenly died and I cannot take any more photos.

Ah
My lens is 80-400VR but since my shutter speed is 1250
VR did not really help

That will take 4weeks or more to repair
. The complete circuit board needs to be replaced
inside.

Hi Joe
Yes, the exception is when the bird is 'interesting'

I shall return to the place for more observation , if it is REALLY
good, then we can go for a try
