Hi,

Good posts. Esp #3 which shows the bird in its element.

The last pic is that of a Paddyfield Pipit (and not a Zitting Cisticola) which was also recently posted on one of the NPS forrum. Some will say that it is a Richard's Pipit and they not entirely wrong.

However, I will not go into a discourse about the naming of these two species. But I would like to point out the diff btw cisticolas (which are warblers like the tailorbirds) and the pipits. For a start, the pipit is larger than a cisticola. Cisticolas are seldom seen on open ground like the bird in your pic, often preferring to hide in tall grasses or being in the air making a "tik tik tik" call.

Hope this helps in the ID of these birds when you go out shooting next time. Birds with drab colours are often a challenge to ID in the field. Keep the images coming!
