    Default [im4ginary] my food trail

Hi guys, yet another noob here...
Been a member of CS for quite a while but only started really browsing around CS Forums for the last month and also because I recently/finally got myself a DSLR. So currently still at beginner's stage being experimental with photo-taking...

Been browsing some of the food galleries here for inspiration too, and decided I'll share some of those I've taken so far. Please do feel free to comment if anything can be improved.

    Thank you in advance!

Starting off with these I took from a dinner at Jamie's Italian at VivoCity:

I do realize these photos have that annoying yellowish tint, yet to read up on how that can be improved :x

    Italian Bread Selection

    Baked Mushrooms

Crab Spaghettini (the pasta's a bit undercooked, but someone I know who works there said that's the way it should be eaten - nevertheless I doubt I'll go for their pasta again the next visit..... haha)

    Grilled Pork Chop

    Tiramisu

Nice photos, looks sharp. The yellowish colour can be adjust on camera or PP in WB.
If given for me, I will take on a higher angle for the grilled pork chop. Will love to show more of the grilled mark

Hi! Ah, I've seen some of your photos too :P
Yes, the lighting played a part but I briefly read somewhere that it can be reduced using the white balance settings (but I was a little lazy to read up further.. lol)

Hello! Thanks! I'm a recent follower on your Flickr and seen some of your photos too
Will try play around with the camera WB settings when I do get to a place with similar lighting environment. Felt a bit paiseh to stand up to take the photo.. must thicken my skin a bit next time. haha!

    Posting more pics soon!

If table space permit, try to remove the red plate on the left away from the frame.
It will distracted viewers away from the main subject.

Nevertheless still a yummy shot haha

Oh that's my bf's plain rice and he actually put the dark soya sauce in a circular direction so it looks like that.... hahaha!

Haha I try not to stand up too but that pork chop is really quite big; if I moved it nearer to me it would be difficult to get a shot of the whole piece :P
Hmm, I never actually realized the red plate was in the picture. I'll need to have more eye for details then.. and will be try playing around with with WB settings more when possible (:

    Thanks!

    At Toast Box

    Teh-C

Kaya Butter toast (After seeing this a few times, I kinda think lowering the aperture might get a better picture of more parts of the bread?)

This is nice. Gd WB, angle, exposure and sharpness.

Thank you Although I must admit, using macro lens really made taking these a lot easier :x
Hope to be able to post more photos with more encouraging reviews and comments like yours

Went River Safari yesterday and ended the trip with Mango Sorbet from Ben & Jerry's there.
Quite nice! Not too sour like most mango sorbet elsewhere... kind of reminds me of the 7D dried mangoes.

Taken with my EF-S18-135mm lens instead of my usual macro lens
