Thanks Matthew, Mervin, John, Srisaro and Kei for your kind comments.

Hi John, this was taken in Lim Chu Kang area at the side of a drain, anyway this species of kingfisher can be found almost everywhere here.

Srisaro, its taken with a telephoto lens, not macro

Cheers

Hi chngpe01

Very nice and sharp pics. May I know which telephoto lens are you using for birding?

Thanks.

Hi Peng Eik,

I visited your gallery. Wow!!! You have fantastic pictures there. Are you using the 500mm lens with a 1.4x or 2x TCs? Is it a F4 lens? Those long lense must be big, heavy and expensive... My dream lens... Hope to own one in the future. Price is out of reach now and I have to start saving.

Thanks and goodnite,

-bire

Thanks bire, I use it mostly with 1.4xTC at times 1.7xTC. 2xTC will see the quality degrading, hence I don't use it.

I am sure you will have your lense in good time. Many years back, I never thought I would ever own a DSLR not to say such lense, but everything is possible if you work hard and reach for it.

Cheers
