Thread: DVD portable player as image viewer in the field?

  1. #1

Default DVD portable player as image viewer in the field?

Mmmm, now that DVD portable player, e.g. Shinco, Toshiba? are
getting cheaper (maybe even more so in the coming Great Spore Sale?)

    I checked out a 7" display and it has AV-in and AV-out.
    But all takes in 3.5mm.
Now that most digi-cam shoots still and moving image,
    provides AV-out.

Can we find a cable that connects digi-cam and portable DVD player
and display digi-cam image in the player (taking advantage of the 7" screen?)

Any comments on using such setup in the field?
    (potential pitfalls, feasibility.... ?)

    TIA

sounds like a good idea. but your screen needs to be really bright else it's just as good as your tiny LCD

it'll be good as a quick check for composition. don't think the screens are good enough to check for sharpness and accurate color.

Worth trying, if your camera's AV cable uses RCA plugs then all you need to do is to find an RCA to 3.5mm plug convertor.
