Ok, comments pls~ I was trying to catch as much action as possible.

Sadly most of the time their backs were facing me.

When I go over to the other side, the other team starts attacking...

ok, have a question. When i zoom all the way, naturally my pictures will be underexposed. To counter that I decrease shutter speed. But by doing so there's motion blur.

So should i NOT zoom, just take everything at high quality and them crop it when i get back?

You're using a variable zoom lens I suppose. Ie: f4-5.6 etc...

I think sports better to use a monopod instead of a tripod.

Lens, maybe get a 80-200mm F2.8.
Unless you wanna get the 70-200mm F2.8 VR.

depends on how much u wanna spend lor.. u can't go wrong with a 70-200VR... for around $3k...

but yeah, as someone mentioned, the 80-200 (afd) would suffice. i wouldn't really bother with the afs80-200.. if u wanna pay for that my as well get the 70-200...

For sports people will usually buy lens with constant aperture 70-200 f2.8 / f4...monopod not really necessary unless shooting in low light conditions of using heavy telephoto lenses IMO

Well, given the equipment you currently using, is a good effort already.

Fixed & big aperture lenses definitely will help with better shots under variable conditions, and they are definitely faster!
