Default Uranidae Moths

Seen them around? the Giant Uranid Moth (Uranidae Uraniinae Lyssa zampa)

the last known sudden flux of these moths was in hong kong, 1999-2000

http://www.ccs-hk.org/DM/butterfly/U...ssa-zampa.html

from what i know(and where i stay and work),
Jurong East Swimming Pool (counted 40+) and CBD (counted 20+ in a single office block) area are infested with these moths..

i'm just waiting for an explanation for this eerily sudden increase in moth numbers. the most recent post on these moths indicated it was found in cameron highlands too. meaning their numbers spread over a large area.

Post your pics! or any theories!

on Friday night...there are hundreds or thousands of this big large moth flying around outside the building of Jaya Jusco shopping complex in Taman Universiti, Skudai, Johor. This is the first time I saw so many at one time...and there are all around!!! Too bad I don't have a camera at that time to capture the scene...incredible...amazing...scary... It was around 9pm when I do my shopping there.

Btw, just a few weeks ago, I saw lots (hundreds) of small caterpillars crawling on the pedestrian way in my university (Universiti Teknologi Malaysia), and I believe these caterpillars are what later evolve into these moths.
