The creep has not learned his lesson. He got off too lightly. Even boasts about it.

Straits Times highlights at the end of each food review that the Straits Times paid for the meals.
Makansutra KF Seetoh always pays for the food.

There are reviewers that do camera review for free and there are reviewers, who are paid by the camera manufacturers.

The reviewers, who expect payment, are like CSer that expect to be paid for photography assignment.

Lady Iron Chef never expect to do food review for free so you cannot said she is wrong

Although she never expect to be pay $$$, at least the food should be free.

The people, who invite her, are like those people, who ask for free photography service from CSer.

All beggars. Teaching each other tools of the begging and extortion trade.

Regardless if you are invited or walked in, you pay for the food. And you do not tell them you are reviewing. Then it is a credible review.

Anything else is just probably selfish agenda.

are you suggesting photographers shouldn't expect to be paid for doing photography assignments?

Yup yup, in return I'll tell my minuscule amount of friends in Facebook of how good you are.

On the reverse, the Salon can ask the blogger to pay for the hair cut, in return that the Salon owner will tell his friends and business connection about advertising in the blogger website.

Well, like I said, no demand no supply.

People know that the reviews are result of free sessions. That would arguably affect the objectiveness - as mentioned in his own blog post, the restaurant may endeavour to do better for the session, and the blogger is "obliged" to say a good piece for them. Yet obviously what he says still matters to them, otherwise the restaurant won't bother to invite him for free food tasting sessions.

So... If you don't agree with that practice, just don't go to his blog. Simple as that. If not, then just accept it as part of life.
