Default Samsung Pro-815

News on this camera is out for sometime now. Something unexpected of Samsung, Impressive zoom range 28-420mm . True SLR like mechanical rings ( Is the third ring for aperture control ? ), 3.5" LCD.

What is that HS button is for anyway, IS ?

Really keen to see how it compares to existing superzooms, especially high ISO performance, considering the long zoom end.

At what price do you think they are going to sell?

Do they have anti-shake/Image stabilizer kind of thing built-in? If not, suggest whoever wants to buy it will need to get super-glue to super-glued it to a tripod permanently...

Somehow, I do not like the design this camera. But if Samsung, not one of the big names in camera making, manage to take the world by storm with this point and shoot cam (if the image quality and price is good), then the existing camera makers better do something fast to keep customers' loyalty before they loose market share ...

Yes, at first it was mistaken for DSLR (removable lens). Agree it is a very Pro looking design. Look at that mechanical rings. Unless they can produce clean ISO 800, the 420mm without IS is of questionable use. This camera design (outlook) certainly put other compact superzoom to shame especially that boxy FZ series. Don't flame me just my personal opinion

Interesting observation! But I believe 8 refers to 8-megapixel and 15 refers to 15x zoom.

The specs may be fantastic but the looks fail to impress.
