Default Studio lights IR trigger..<pls help-urgent>

Hi all,

I need some help with these questions..and it is kinda urgent...so many thanks in advance for all who can help...

I am using bowens lights..so am wondering what IR trigger can i get which is btw the range of $70 to $150 dollars. I understand that Eastgear is carrying Jinbei triggers but they only have a range of 10m...I hope to get more range than that prob abt 30m and above... Any brand, and model to recommend???

And are there anything i should be looking out for...in IR triggers..?

Anyway, are place where I can get cheap lightstands for my Bowens...second hand or otherwise..looking at abt $70..

Cheers...n thks

I believe East gear also sells jinbei radio triggers, which should have a further range. You may like to check it out.

why would you need a trigger with effective triggering distance of 30m? i reckon most studios are unlikely to have length of 30m.

Hi.. we met the other day rite...
Pocket wizard plus.. i believe the range is 1600 feet +. selling at cathay <$500 not very sure.. comes with transmitter and receiver...

http://www.helixcamera.com/Studio+li...izardplus.html

as per our conversation the other day, i believe the ISE IR trigger sold at cathay is more reliable than the jinbei trigger (the ISE lookalike) sold at eastgear... i guess the ISE has been tested and proven. but the IR trigger alone won't ensure a long working range.

good luck.

Just came back from ruby...

Seems like there are only two ranges of radio triggers:

1. $500-$600-----the Bowens and Pocket Wizard

2. $80-$150-----the China brand ones with range abt 15m..

Any other alternatives..cos the first range is way out of my budget and would like the trigger w/ a longer range

I think the china ones have a range longer than 15m BUT it depends on the type of area you are shooting in. You may want to use 2 sets of RF triggers , a hot shoe with a syn cord socket to form one main transimtter and a rebro station. In theory it should work to extend the range.

If it a paying job its time to transfer cost back to user.

normal stand can get from CP at 75 only new one

don't think IR can trigger that long....

i use Radio trigger from ruby, if its open area it should be ok to trigger for 30meter i think, i use it at Suntec convension hall last time, triggered around 20m, just buy another reciever again if you use more than 1 lights.

i can lend you some if you want.
