Default Storing Digital Pics - What's the best way ?

Hi All

How do you guys store your valuable digital images ?

Do you leave them on the HD of your PC, or burn them onto CD/DVD ?

Thanks

I'll burn all the raw pictures onto DVD and will only keep those pictures that are processed in my HD. The processed pictures are also burned onto a seperate CD.

I'm also curious to know the answer to this, but more in respect of a large volume of files.

I am already on my 6th HDD and having close to 1TB of data to be archived. There doesn't seem to be a good and cheap way to archive data of such large volume other than copying it into other HDDs. DVDs are too small as each disc is only 4.7GB, CDs lagi worse. Thought of tape drives until I found out that the cheapest one is at least 1.5k.

Any suggestions? :P

I stored them in DVD and property catalog, just as you would with negatives, and keep in the dry cabinet.

1 Tera byte of memory on a RAID 5 controller and networkable ... not bad at all, but price a bit steep at US$1,600+. Right now, I just have everything stred on 2 seperate drive, a rather inefficient but a bit more cost effective way to back everything up.
