    Unhappy Shutter Count issue

    Anyone encounter Shutter count issues?

i've been heard a lot about this.
but i jsut got my D70,
so, anyone can explain WHY and HOW the shutter can spoilt/mulfunction after 50k shot....(if i'm not wrong D70's shutter life is about 50k) ?

its simply wear and tear on the shutter's planes, screws etc.

due to the fact that it is not a film-based camera, most people start to snap at anything and everything, thus using a DSLR will almost always incur a high level of 'snap moments'.

    Oh ok. got it.....

Just like Watches manufacturer put in Rubis into a watches...
so, the watches can last for hundreds years....

**wondering maybe Nikon can do it? just don't want to do it, and let you go back to them, and ask them fix it for u, by paying money ever 2-3 years (heavy shooter). ...

    good for u!

but i dunno much abt watches and precise mechanism... hahaha

what i do know is that u can change the entire shutter mechanism at Nikon service centre upon break-down or anytime u feel like doing so.

    don;t think that it'll cost a bomb...

Thanks, brother. That's very comforting. Mine has just hit 15k shots.

There is *sigh* no documentation anywhere that the D70's shutter can only LAST 50K.

For the D2H, it's 150K, but that's the raw estimate before the shutter doesn't get as accurate as before, like mabbe 1/5000 it will falter a bit to give 1/4800 instead.

It doesn't mean the shutter will break, crack, pik chiak, geddit?

And taking a F5 for example, it took about 1million fires before somebody realised the shutter wasn't accurate anymore.

Which of course - D2H is using F5's shutter... so....
