Of course! Thats what the lao jiaos here are for - to help the newbies.
However, don't blame us if you walk out of the camera store with something costing 2-3x what you had in mind ....

No particular shops, but since the Peninsula area has a multitude of shops, its easier to get/see a whole lot more equipment within a short walking distance. The largest of the stores would be Cathay Photo (but even then at the last couple of SEEDs, ClubSNAPpers have totally crowded the store up and spill out to the corridor), and the salespeople there are very helpful (as we lao jiaos have been going there (and buying) for some time now. So, I guess the motive of SEED would be to guide and demo to newbie what camera they should be BuyBuyBuying, but ultimately, where they buy from is entirely up to them.....
