How did you get the lizard to stay so still?

Light tent with Single flash?

These lizards can stay very still either to pretend that they are dead, or because they are comfortable with your presence. Just close in slowly, avoiding sudden movements.

One way is to keep them in cool place for some time, then bring them out to room temperature. That way, they would feel warm in the new environment as they are cold-blooded, and need external heat sources.
