Default do you use tablet in your photography workflow?

i'm thinking of the asus nexus 7 to preview shots for clients on a bigger screen when I'm on assignment.

anyone has any experience about using tablet in your workflow?

is it difficult to get the correct RAW codec? (i'm using d600)

or is it just too plain laggy and troublesome for u?

or u can share what u use your tablet for... remotely shooting? etc etc

no jokes about eating tablets to keep blood pressure down when shooting exciting subjects!

Darn.. do you read minds ?

But how do you transfer the pictures ? If you are using nikon wireless adapter, the android app should be able to decode the raw.. or whatever
Or you can shoot raw+jpg right

it takes one to know one lol

i'm thinking adapter to read the SD card, not wireless. (hence need the CODEC i assume)

not thinking of transmitting wirelessly all the time, just at certain junctures when i need to review the work to show the subject what i'm trying to achieve... or when everything is done and having lunch

Oh damn, I thought you were talking about Wacom.

No la, why would you use a crippled tool to edit photos.

Ah... Yes I think that'd be helpful, I always see couples huddled around the camera.. Ok for one person to view but not 3.

For me, nobody want to see my shots on-site one, so no issues with that.

To use the Nexus 7, you will need the Nexus Media Importer app, an OTG cable and a card reader. I suspect the latest app version should support the D600 raw but best to check their site on google play.

Not laggy. But this is a relative term.

But you should note you will have a "tail" (the attached OTG and reader) sticking out of the tablet. Enjoy yourself.

    thank you for the information!

a quick search I can't seem to find the supported RAW files, just a line saying it will support .nef, but thanks anyway!

do you have a tablet that u personally use? and if you do, how do u use it as part of your workflow?

My NEF D7000 files can be displayed in the Nexus 7 with the app. I view my own photos and delete accordingly. I use the tablet's internal storage as a backup device.

Never tried pp with the tablet.

Whenever I go on trips, I will use my tablet and a OTG card reader to review shots that I had taken on that day. For raw photos, I use an app call RawDroid to see all my raw photos. Jpeg photos you can just use the usual photo gallery app to see. It is a great way to see photos I had taken on that day immediately with my family or friends, even though I am away from my PC or laptop.

I believed you can use the same to preview photos with your client in a professional capacity.

I am using my samsung note to review photos taken n do some minor editing via adobe photoshop when on site. The transfer is done either via wifi or otg card reader. Applications are available for viewing n labeling of raw files. I currently only perform editing on jpg.
