Hi
I noticed that in the US, there is no mention of the 300D and 350D series but they do mention the Canon "Rebel" series..They look very much like the 300/350 so I'm wondering if they are the same thing. I noticed the prices are a few hundred dollars lesser over there. Can anyone identify what is the US equivalent of 300D and 350D there and if its wise to purchase the camera from the US? warranty issues? thanks ina advance. |

wow...that means the US version of 300D selling for S$905
while the 350D selling for S$1235 only! Even if we include shipping, that's way below the cost sold here (350D around $1800). So is it wise to purchase the 350D fromthe US? will the warranty still be honoured here? cheers |

unless it comes with international warranty...Otherwise Canon Singapore may likely to charge you money for repair.

SGD1235? I think you saw the BODY ONLY version which doesn't include the 18-55mm kit lens. I've check the Kit set will cost 899 USD -> 1.4k SGD

check out PCMag Apr 12 edition page 137.
The website is www.broadwayphoto.com. It says very clear "Canon Digital Rebel Kit" US$749 for XT and US$549 for basic kit. For the Nikon, it says "D70 kit" - US$849. The non-kit version for the XT is US$649. Some taxes and shipping within the US would probably apply. I'm thinking of asking a friend to buy and handcarry back but not sure if he can squeeze in as he may be maxed out with other friends' purchase requests! If you're going to the USA to buy the stuff, could you pick for me a black body 350D as well? I'm sincere and interested! I just want the body, don't need the kit lens.

Availability: Order Now! Our Price: $859.00 PRODUCT DETAIL (For the Rebel XT w/Kit) And 759 for the non-kit version. Did you see it wrongly? (perhaps Rebel no XT). |

Actually, I'm in America now. But it is risky to buy something so expensive for anyone I have nver met. In US, there are all kinds of sellers who have all sort of ploys so usually you have to be careful with who you buy from. It is not worth trying to save money but get conned.
Usually, B&H, 17th Street Photo, Costco, Newegg are the best retailers and the ones I trust. |

was wondering are canon cameras cheaper in malaysia? if so, then can consider buying as the shipping cost back to malaysia for support would be much lower than sending it back to the US... Last edited by airconvent; 18th May 2005 at 03:06 AM. |

I bought my Rebel Digital XT kit few days ago at Dumoulin Montreal, priced at CAD 1200 + 15% tax, about SGD 1932.42
So I think Singapore price is still the best. |

Canon Singapore do honors International Warranty for Lens, coz i just sent my Lens (bought from US) for servicing.
I'm not too sure about camera bodies.

Canon can withhold special local privileges such as home delivery, 1 day service, free gifts, etc but basic support MUST be extended. its so sad if comments that they do not honour international warranties are true.... just took a look at the D50 on nikon.com.sg 's website and it certainly looks very bulky compared with the 300d... |
