the higher contrast one is indeed better for the feeling of the space within the frame. the interesting thing about this kind of image is that it has to be printed into a huge size, like A2 or A1, to get the full effect ... much like the Chinese landscape painting, where the whole is made of small little parts that can remain autonomous when taken out of the bigger whole.

Very interesting shot! I'd think it took a bit of waiting to get these two gentlemen (?) in the frame.
Wonder if it'd look better if they be a bit bigger and the forest occupy a little bit smaller frame area? |

the two gentlemen were walking on the ghim moh park connector just behind my apartment. din have to wait too long though, cos there were many joggers and cyclists on the park connector in the evening. i wanted to include the tall trees in the distance and to include to two gentlemen to give the trees a sense of scale. anyway, here's a cropped version with less forest; ![]() |

Hmm, guess I was wrong, your first shot has a better impact.
