One Free ScanDisk CF card from Canon, another Kingston CF card from H.N
BTW, price of 350D Kit in HongKong and China has been dropped to S$14xx, before Nikon D50 launch. Last edited by sstar; 14th May 2005 at 11:17 PM. |

HK $14xx is inclusive of kit lens? Canon price or retailer give tat kind of price?
cause retailer might be grey set.. but if it's canon price.. then it's a damn low price.. sg still like $17xx |

If you check the prices around some of the shops you'll realise that the 350D does cost around 17xx. The other so called freebies aren't really free except for the canon promo. If you just subtract the other "free" CF card and the rest, that's the same price you can get at some shops that don't come with the "freebies", except for the 3 year warranty, which is a nice deal.

I try 3rd party batt before, it's totally unusable after 1/2 a yr. The OEM still works like new. So I dun wanna spend money on 3rd party.

Put it this way, SGD $1760 gets you a D50 kit that comes with 18-55 DX and a 55-200 lens. Body + 18-55 is about $1450 only ![]() |

Have prices in Singapore plummeted so low yet? I'm waiting for the prices to hover around 1.5k for a new set.

Prices plummeted in places like US coz you can actually pre-order Nikon D50 now at $1400+, with kit lens. At the same price as the 350D now, u get D50 + 18-55 + 55-200. Well, you can't pre-order anything in Singapore for now, nor overseas (No Int'l warranty for DSLRs). |

The problem in Singapore is that Canon or Nikon controlled the prices despite their counterparts in US dropped their prices.
Just for info, brand new 1) 1D mk II is selling <S$5000 in US 2) D2H selling at around $3000 in US But do we see such prices in Singapore? Therefore, if you want good prices, you have to buy from US or other countries. Of course, warranty is an issue for camera bodies. |

GST is only applicable for brand new stuff rite? Say we take it out of the box and use it, do we still need to pay the GST?
