will the life of a digital SLR eg D70 out-live that of the battery.
What i mean is: When your D70 is still in working condition 5yrs [assuming that you yourself can endure so long without upgrading] down the road and you can't find the battery to replace the used one, as it may no longer in production. And will buying more batteries now, say 4~5pcs now, help in extending this. But, even 2yrs later, a new DSLR may be far more technologically advanced. And cheaper too. So may be pointless to worry about this. |

I am afraid that your question can not be answered as it will depend on how heavy is the usage on both the battery and the camera.
Yes as you said, a decade down the road you will probably be ashamed to use a chucky 6MP dSLR where 12MP is the standard for a camera phone. ![]() |

D70 can use 3 x CR2 batteries with the supplied MS-D70 battery holder.
