Default F1 Sky Suite Photographic equipment restriction

I am invited to this coming F1 Sky suite. As this is the first time I am shooting at this location, I am finding out is there any restriction on bringing in monopod ? Had searched on their website and seen some phots showing the sky balcony but no one is shooting inside the photo.

Intend to bring a 7d+300mm+a smalk compact cam. Any bros can share their experience when shooting at sky suite area? Thanks.

Large tripods and huge bazooka lenses are for authorized media photographers only who have allocated photography area.

They strictly do not allow professional equipment up the sky suite for safety reasons, mainly because directly below the sky suite are usually the grandstands filled with people. They even go to the extend of serving champagne in plastic flutes up there.

The last thing you want to do is surrender your expensive gear to some security at the gate.

    So yeah, my advice:
    - Bring you compact cam. Snap some great pics of the view from up there
    - Don't lug around huge equipment, it is gonna get hot and if you want to watch the concert it's a long walk from where you are.
    - Enjoy the race, get drunk from the free flow of booze.

I got this from Singapore GP site (http://www.singaporegp.sg/race/sky_club.php)

    What Not To Bring
For safety reasons, certain items are not permitted in the Circuit Park.

    These items include:

    Any large or bulky items
Corporate or commercial flags or branding
    Laser pointers
    Pets
Articles prohibited by Singapore law (example: fireworks, flares, weapons, etc.)
Videographic or photographic equipment for professional use

this clause has been there throughout all the SG F1 Grandprixs, and in fact in the past they specified lens up to 300mm, anything beyond 300mm was disallowed.

however I have brought my DSLRs and 300mm lenses all this while. as long as you are not using it "professionally" and not selling the images you capture, you are fine.

I just called up the hotline 67386738. The staff informed that so long as its not for professional usage, they allow tripod/monopod + dslr.
I may bring it all to the sky balcony and play by ear then

    thanks for the inputs.

LOL I've been shooting F1 for many years. Up to you who you want to believe. Can already scout on Friday and Saturday what the camera policy is.

You can shoot the cars at the last bend before the pit straight. That's the only area at the sky balcony with a clear shot of the cars. Once the cars reach the pit straight, the fence will be in the way.

Btw, there was a private event at the extreme corner of the balcony where the bend was last year. I camped at the railing at the sky balcony near the edge the private party and took these novice pics (used a D7k with 70-200 F2.8 + 1.4tc). Hope this helps...
