it's a workshop actually... good opportunity to learn from the gurus there. Understand the fee is for booking of some place and refreshment... I have no idea how are they going to conduct the session tho...

If I can make it..I'll be going there to see what "tips" I can get rather than what pics I can get there.

tho I'm not as serious as them shooting birds almost every weekends (or everyday?)... they are still one of my more frequent subjects.

Aniway..if you got the lens to shoot birds @ SBWR, MOG should be no prob.

    Wah! no one here todae...

aniway, here are the details for ANYONE in STG who's interested in learning bird photography.

    Workshop itineraries

    Part 1 - Introduction to Basic Bird Photography Techniques & Equipment (8:30a.m - 9:45a.m)

The session will kick off with a couple of experienced bird photographers conducting a briefing session which introduces to participants the basic gist of bird/nature photography, the type of equipments used, how to approach the birds in the field, and basic photographic knowledge, including shutter speed, aperture, ISO, depth of field, long lens techniques etc.

Part 2 - Hands on Shooting session in the Garden (9:45a.m - 11:30a.m)

After the briefing session, participants will be invited to bring out their own gears to try out on the Garden's winged denizens, which include Olive-backed and Crimson sunbirds, bulbuls, spiderhunters, flowerpeckers and kingfishers. Experienced members would be on hand to guide and supervise them.

The session will wrap up at about 11.30a.m with a quick debrief session, after which participants are free to do as they please, whether to leave or continue shooting within the Garden.

    Refreshments will be provided.

    Equipment

Participants are encouraged to bring their own photographic equipment, a digicam or SLR body (film or digital), coupled with a telephoto lens (at least a 200mm, 300mm and above is recommended), a tripod and an external flash (if applicable). Also, spare batteries and memory cards/film.
