I shot this weeks ago when it was a full spray. It struck me that the single orchid, with its wavy petals, looked liked a samurai helmet with their battle decorations. Its obviously lost its battle with nature, and this one is the last man standing.
I used a different exposure technique (compared to my normal) to capture the sombre mood. Slide came out exactly as I envisioned it. What you have here is the original photo, with no PS except sharpening to compensate for the JPEG conversion, and resizing. ![]() |

If I recall, it was f8.0. Plant was in its original location, so DOF to throw out the background.
Spot on the white and dropped shutter by about 1.5 stops under. Good luck. I just suck harder ![]() (corrected for 1.5 stops) Last edited by JT1; 11th May 2005 at 09:45 AM. |
