Default Advise/help pls

Happily brought my new D70 to Huangshan last week, soon realise that quite a few shots has the "shadow" effect at the edges of the shots. Also notice that these happens to shots with higher shutter speeds only eg ... 1/400 - 1/1600 ++.

Is there anything wrong with my camera or izzit a property of poor exposure? Pls advise me. And sorry if these questions seems stupid ... me very newbie ah.

Also note these happens at different focal length, and usually at smaller aperture F stops ... e.g. 3.5 - 5.6.

Are you using any filters?? That could be the problem when it is wide open?

light fall off. stop down a couple of stops and this should disappear. Nothing wrong as far as i can see. filter vignetting will look more pronounced than this.

eh, ya, dun think is the filter prob. Cos as mentioned, it does not only happens when wide open, it happens across a range of focal length ... varying 18 - 70mm with my kit lens.

Somehow it happens at high shutter speed and big aperture. The rest of the shots are ok ... think abt 30-40 of my 600++ shots got this prob ...

Showtime -> what's "light fall off"?

Thks very much anyway!!

Checked your EXIF you were shooting at wide open apertures f/3.5-4.5 throughout the 18-70mm.

Step down a bit and you will not hit this issue.

From your shutter speed, I think most shot are taken at wide open. So try to use 2 step down from the 3.5-4.5, you can avoid this.
