hi guys, need some advice...
my sigma 500 dg super seems to have died. all the buttons, backlight etc work, and the flash indicates that it's charged and the camera sees it, but the flash refuses to go off. when i press the "test" button, it doesn't go off either. i suppose this means it has blown. question is, can it be repaired/bulb replaced? where to go and how much will it cost? i don't think mine is covered by warranty... ![]() or is it easier to buy a new one? thx in advance |

Sorry but one week to change a bulb??? That's not exactly what I call pain-free...

i don't know how long it normally takes with other brands lah, just meant that i only needed to go in, give them, come back, collect. i'm just happy that i didn't have to spend another $300+ to get a new one :P

Great to hear that your flash is okay... As for Sigma Service....they are okay and even offer on the spot if the problem can really be rectified on the spot.....they will ask you to want a while and sit at this round glass table ..... However, if there is a fault that need a part order.....its obvious that they will give you the 1 to 2 weeks wait period......sometimes....they do call you back earlier....if you are lucky and if they happen to have parts... So ....i guess you made the right move....go back to the service centre.... rgds, sulhan |

hi sulhan! long time no see, how's it going?
i guess i don't really have any alternatives to the sigma service centre anyway. not as long as i want free repairs under warranty. how about the minolta service centre, have been there before, but just to get parts, do they do general servicing for a2 camera? the rubber on the handgrip is starting to come out too. |
